Purpose:

The purpose of the 1000 Club is to raise funds. Money raised from the 1000 Club will be distributed between the three charities and used by each to further its objectives and maintain its heritage buildings.

Rules:

1. For a cost of £5 per month (i.e. per draw) you will be allocated one number between 1 and 1000.

2. A draw will be made every month with a two prizes. The first prize is £500 with the second prize made up of the rest of the prize money. This may be reviewed in future as the number of entrants grows.

3. The prize money will total 50% of the monthly income.

4. The 1000 Club is a small society lottery (registered with Waverley Borough Council under license number 2024/31) and is open to anyone aged 16 or over.

5. Numbers are limited to ten per household.

6. Payments can be made in cash on the day of signing up, and then must be made by standing order (monthly or annually) or by annual cheque. Once your annual subscription has been made, it cannot be cancelled part way through the year and no refunds will be offered. One month’s notice is required for cancellation of your annual subscription.

7. Member’s numbers will only be entered if their subscription is up to date.

8. If a member misses a payment, we will assume you have cancelled your membership and we may sell your number(s) to someone else.

9. The draw shall be made by a member of the public and will ideally take place at a community event wherever possible.

10. If you win, a member of the Cranleigh 1000 Club committee will contact you and arrange for the payment of the prize to be made directly to your personal bank account, normally within one week of the draw. It is your responsibility to let us know if any of your contact details change and we cannot be held responsible for any cheques that go astray, where a change of address has not been notified to us.

11. The surname and numbers for each month’s winners will be posted on the Charity’s website and social media accounts (unless the winners wish to remain anonymous as indicated on the original Membership Form or otherwise formally notified prior to the winning draw).

12. The 1000 Club bank account will be administered by Cranleigh Heritage Trust on behalf of the 3 charities. In case of any dispute the decision of the Chairperson of the Cranleigh Heritage Trust trustees is final.

13. A member will be deemed to have left the 1000 Club if his/her subscription renewal remains unpaid for a period of one month.

14. If a winner cannot be contacted, the uncollected/unclaimed winnings will be considered as a donation towards the 3 charities and split equally between them after three months.
